Did these people, that Americans elected into the government, ever read Francis Bastiat’s book “The Law”? Don’t the realize that taxing us on our income, capital gains, communication systems, etc. is literally stealing from the people!!!!

The only way we can get out of this recession is not by taking peoples liberties away but by giving it back, let the people keep their money and invest it back into the economy. This stimulates growth, this creates businesses, this create jobs, this creates capital, this creates a strong, stable and growing economy!!!

The best way to describe exactly what is going on is by this qoute by Ronald Reagan in his 1984 State of the Union Speech”

“As we came to the decade of the eighties, we faced the worst crisis in our postwar history. In the seventies were years of rising problems and falling confidence. There was a feeling government had grown beyond the consent of the governed. Families felt helpless in the face of mounting inflation and the indignity of taxes that reduced reward for hard work, thrift, and risk-taking. All this was overlaid by an ever-growing web of rules and regulations.

On the international scene, we had an uncomfortable feeling that we’d lost the respect of friend and foe. Some questioned whether we had the will to defend peace and freedom. But America is too great for small dreams. There was hunger in the land for spiritual revival; if you will, a crusade for renewal; The American people said: Let us look to the future with confidence, both at home and abroad. Let us give freedom a chance.

Traditional Family Values - The values, customs, conventions, and norms of the Judeo-Christian tradition inform and guide a free society. Without such ordinances, society induces its decay by embracing a relativism that rejects an objective moral order.

Strong National Defense – Americans must be capable of proactively protecting the nation and its citizens. Our armed forces must be ready to act anywhere in the world where vital national interests are threatened. This can be achieved by giving the military the resources it needs to keep us safe and maintain freedom.

These five points are what define conservatism, if any policy, law or ideology violate any of these principles, then it is not conservative and should be overturned or fought against.

An Internet rap video that claims to reflect true conservative values is quickly becoming a cult success.

“The Young Con Anthem,” created by two Dartmouth students, has received more than 115,000 views and has been featured on The Huffington Post, USA Today and a variety of blogs across the political spectrum.

Students David Rufful and Josh Riddle made a rap video that they say was intended to spread the views of the Young Conservatives, a group started by Rufful and Riddle with “a devout mission to spread the love and logic surrounding true conservatism,” according the organization’s Web site.

Rufful and Riddle, both due to graduate in 2012, came to Dartmouth from the Northfield Mount Hermon School, a private school in Massachusetts.

“We didn’t think it would blow up to be this big, but it was kind of a way for us to express a pretty unique view,” Riddle said in an interview with The Dartmouth. “We kind of wanted to spread the love that’s behind the conservative movement.”

In the rap, Rufful and Riddle, who perform under the names Serious C and Stiltz, respectively, discuss the origins of their conservative values, saying: “Three things taught me conservative love / Jesus, Ronald Reagan plus Atlas Shrugged.”

“I take the way I want to have relationships and my morals from the Bible and Jesus, the idea of supply side economics from Ronald Reagan and from Atlas Shrugged, “Riddle said in an interview, “obviously, I don’t agree with all of [Ayn Rand's] religious philosophies, but it’s all about the power of the individual.”

Riddle said his views are “more valid” because of the diverse influences that contribute to his conservatism.

The video was meant to start a dialogue about politics, Riddle said, not to offend any group. At one point in song the lyrics say: “Don’t matter if you’re gay, straight, Christian, Muslim / There’s one thing we all hate, it’s called socialism.”

“I just hope that people understand that in no way are we trying to hate on anybody,” Riddle said.

The online response to the video, which currently has a 1.5 out of five rating on YouTube, has varied. One commenter on the conservative blog Hot Air expressed approval for “the message, the messengers and the media.”

A commenter on YouTube, however, disagreed.

“And this folks … is why we become Democrats,” the commenter wrote.

Rufful said that there has been “hateful commentary” in response to the video, particularly from liberal bloggers.

“There’s been death threats — waking up to a video of a guy with a skull, that’s not really what we were looking for,” he said, referring to the YouTube video response from a user named NikolaiRaged.

Scott Johnson, a contributor to the conservative blog Power Line, who graduated from Dartmouth in 1973,  praised the video in an interview with The Dartmouth.

“I thought it was heartening to see some very bright young people who have thought about the issues and are reacting to current events trying to communicate in a way that is contemporary and good humored,” Johnson said.

Power Line posted the “Young Con Anthem” video on its web site Saturday.

“I certainly appreciated what they had to say, and I couldn’t believe how funny it was and how biting it was,” Johnson said. “I was just laughing about it all day.”

Both Harrison Davies, president of the College Republicans, and Bret Vallacher, president of the College Democrats, said they had not heard about the video until they were asked to comment by The Dartmouth.

“I have to admit, at first I thought it was funny and actually a Colbert-esque satire,” Vallacher said after watching the video. “Yet, as this tirade staggers on, it tragically exposes the completely irreconcilable views of modern day neo-conservatism.”

Rufful said he came up with his alias, “Serious C” because he is “seriously Christian and conservative,” according to the group’s Web site.  Riddle, who is 6′ 9″ tall, was called “Stiltz” by his friends because of his height.

“We don’t claim to be rappers. We’re not pursuing a rap career,” Rufful said when asked if the duo had any plans to create other videos. “Spreading the conservative message is more of our goal.”

The YouTube video was shot on Dartmouth’s campus in the Rockefeller Center and Occom Commons.

Once there was a poor farmer who wanted to become fabulously rich in the diamond trade. He deserted his farmland and traveled the world looking for diamonds until he was too old to look anymore. He returned home penniless, only to discover that the fields around his home were thick with flawless diamonds as big as your fist.

The poor guy’s fortune had been right under his nose, but he had wasted his whole life looking everywhere but in his own backyard.

That old story came back to me a few weeks ago when I met Marco Rubio. He’s the 38-year old former speaker of the Florida House of Representatives running for the U.S. Senate seat being vacated by Mel Martinez next year. Rubio is the most impressive conservative leader I have met in a long time, a natural leader with an inspiring personal story and an even more inspiring vision for Florida and America.

He is at once a principled conservative and an accomplished legislator with a proven record of building broad coalitions to champion fiscal discipline, economic growth, and the American values of family, faith, and freedom.

For months now, Republicans have been looking around, asking everyone they meet who our next leaders will be. And somehow, inexplicably, many of us have grown blind to the diamonds all around us. There are already many young, conservative leaders ready to fight for freedom in Washington and in state capitals all around the country. But we’ll never find them if we only look for well-known politicians or choose our party’s direction based on the latest polls instead of timeless principles.

Rubio is the son of Cuban exiles, who fled to the United States in the late 1950s without a dollar in their pocket. He tells inspiring stories about the neighborhoods where he grew up, and how America empowered his family to make a life for themselves. Rubio did rise: to college and law school, to the City Commission in West Miami to the legislature, all the way to the speaker’s chair. From each of these positions, Rubio has championed a positive, principled, conservative agenda as the best way to create jobs and opportunities. He is living the American Dream, and understands how much he owes to our Founders and their principles of personal liberty and limited government. He wants to serve because he wants to protect those principles – when Marco Rubio swears an oath to our constitution, he’s one of those politicians who will actually mean it.

Everywhere he has gone, Rubio has stood up to liberal ideas and interest groups, and stood up for freedom. He has taken on daunting issues – from a statewide education curriculum to energy reform – and succeeded in persuading independents and Democrats that his ideas – innovative, conservative solutions – make for the best answers to our biggest challenges.

He is exactly the kind of Senator Florida needs, and exactly the kind of leader our party is looking for: a conservative’s conservative with a record of success in a swing state, a self-made first generation American, a dynamic Republican spokesman in two languages, a young husband and father himself dealing with the same problems middle class families like his face every day.

There is no question Marco Rubio will be a big part of the Republican Party’s future, but I believe if we are to defeat the forces of Big Government now controlling Washington, Marco Rubio needs to be a big part of the Republican Party’s present. He has the skills and ideas we need to rebuild our party, reform our government, and renew our nation.

I am going to support Marco Rubio for Senate!

We need a true conservative that will not appease the left but will act against them and fight for what is right. Marco Rubio has time and time again stood up to ideals that would hurt the people of Florida as Speaker of the House & as a Member of the House of Representatives.

Marco Rubio clearly understands the difference between freedom and tyranny,  like myself he has heard firsthand of the atrocities that occurred to his own family when the banner of “Socialism” was being waved in Cuba. This is what makes him different than Charlie Crist. Charlie Crist sees the banner of Socialism and only worries about what will make him popular, what strategy will insure that he appeases the beast which in turn will cause the majority of the people to approve of him. Marco Rubio sees the banner of “Socialism”, immediately identifies it because he knows what it looks like and finally acts and fights against whatever or whomever that banner is flying over.

In my opinion “Socialism” is like Hitler, it is a beast that is looking at taking over the country the most strategic way that it can. Charlie Crist is like Prime Minister Chamberlain that sees to appease the beast for popularity’s sake. Marco Rubio is like Winston Churchill, he identifies the beast and takes it on head first regardless of what others may think or say.

Marco Rubio is what we as Americans need in the Senate. We need need a Senator that can identify danger when it comes. We need a Senator that is not afraid to act and fight to protect the American people when an Idea, Bill, or Person comes flying the colors of Socialism right into the Senate floor claiming they are here to help, when  in reality they are here to conquer and destroy. Conquer our country and Destroy our Freedom.

Marco Rubio in my choice for Senate, and I pray he is your choice as well!!!

When creating a sign, business card, billboard, Blog Post etc. etc., never write in CAPITAL LETTERS.

Yes capital letters do stand out but studies have shown that it is slightly more difficult for the Brain to quickly compute, read and understand ALL CAPS when compared Lower Case Letters. This is very important when you have your candidates sign near a road. The driver has only a few seconds to read the sign, so make sure it is easy for them to read.

Lower case letters are better in all instances than Capital Letters.

“We The People…Securing Liberty“

The Leadership Institute (LI): is an amazing organization. They are the backbone of the Activist arm of the Conservative Movement.

Everyone involved with LI are top notch Activists. The are amazing at what they do. If anyone comes from this organization and informs you that they are from LI or have ever been trained by LI, my advice to you is to listen to every word they say.

Take really good notes and follow their advise. If you have heard of LI before then you know what I am talking about. If you haven’t then I encourage you to get in touch with them and get involved as soon as possible, and sign up for as many training courses as you can.

I know firsthand of their training and I have had the extreme privilege to have been trained by, work with and work for the Leadership Institute in the past. Like I said before, they are absolutely amazing and are probably the best Political Training Organization in the world!!!
